Current conformance status and ongoing efforts

At Air Astana, we are committed to providing an inclusive and accessible online experience for all users. To achieve this, we follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 and comply with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, which establishes accessibility requirements for digital content. These standards help ensure our website is accessible to individuals with disabilities, enhance compatibility with assistive technologies, and improve user experience overall. We also comply with the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and Canadian accessibility laws to support an inclusive experience globally.

WCAG 2.1 defines three levels of accessibility: A, AA, and AAA. We have aligned the Air Astana marketing site with Level A and AA standards to create a more accessible digital environment. Currently, our site partially conforms to WCAG 2.1 Level AA and EN 301 549. All critical functional-performance criteria (perceivable, operable, understandable, robust) are satisfied. Work is ongoing to achieve full conformance.

To further support our accessibility commitment, we collaborate with certified industry experts to implement best practices and meet WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA standards. Our efforts continue as we strive to improve accessibility and ensure all content is available to everyone.

Our accessibility partners conduct manual testing using NVDA, JAWS, or VoiceOver on Windows and Mac systems, as needed. We also utilize proprietary software for automated testing to identify and address potential accessibility barriers.

We regularly monitor our website to uphold our accessibility commitment and provide an optimal experience for the broadest possible audience.
